Phantom Blade Zero: Skip Nvidia Driver 621.01 [Confirmed]

Phantom Blade Zero developer S-Game has officially advised PC gamers on Steam to skip Nvidia graphics driver version 621.01 and perform a clean rollback to version 617.42 to prevent severe frame rate stutters, sudden game crashes, and critical visual anomalies. According to verified reports from PC Gamer, the studio issued the urgent technical advisory alongside their major 5 GB launch day patch in a community post titled 'Reason and Madness.' While S-Game previously encouraged players to keep their GPU software fully updated prior to launch, extensive internal QA testing revealed that recent Nvidia builds degrade Unreal Engine 5 wuxia combat rendering. S-Game specifically noted that GeForce Game Ready Driver 617.42 delivers peak frame stability, smoother frame pacing, and optimal hardware utilization across handhelds, budget rigs, and flagship graphics cards. Much like how major open-world releases demand rigorous engine optimization—as seen in coverage of [GTA 6 Map Size: Leonida Rivals GTA 5 and RDR2 [Confirmed]](/news/gta-6-map-size-leonida-massive)—fast-paced action RPGs depend entirely on tight driver cohesion to sustain fast frame rates. Players encountering crashes are instructed to run Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) or select Nvidia's clean installation mode.
