Perplexity Teammates AI Agents Update [Confirmed 2026]

According to verified reports from Engadget, Perplexity has launched its innovative personal AI agents called teammates, designed exclusively for Perplexity Max subscribers paying two hundred dollars per month to handle autonomous multi-step tasks. These specialized agents operate within the cloud-based Perplexity Computer interface, allowing users to assign individual roles and execute complex workflows simultaneously. Teammates work around the clock in the background, autonomously coordinating secondary agents, planning task allocations, and notifying users only when critical decisions are required. Every active teammate maintains a dedicated sidebar entry inside the platform interface, providing real-time status updates, operational history, and thread management capabilities. Currently, this high-end feature is restricted to Perplexity Max web and iOS subscribers, representing a significant investment of two hundred dollars monthly or two thousand dollars annually. While pricing remains steep for casual users, professional content creators and esports analysts are evaluating how automated workflows impact daily operational efficiency.
