Match Report & Event Overview
According to verified reports from Dexerto Esports, G2 Esports officially terminated their relationship with head coach Luka ‘Perkz’ Perković on November 5 following a highly controversial social media statement that sparked widespread online backlash. The 27-year-old former League of Legends star published a 2,676-word manifesto on X detailing personal stances on abortion, religious beliefs, and politics, alongside reflections on his history with former G2 CEO Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodríguez. Among the remarks, Perkz compared abortion to murder, drawing immediate condemnation from fans and industry peers alike. In response to the escalating controversy, G2 Esports acted swiftly to sever ties, issuing a statement regarding organizational values. Shortly after the termination announcement, Perkz permanently deleted his primary X account, though his Instagram, Twitch, and YouTube channels remain active as the esports community processes the stunning offline fallout. The incident marks another turbulent chapter in the storied career of one of Europe’s most iconic midlaners turned coaches, raising serious questions about professional conduct and social media guidelines for tier-one esports personnel heading into the upcoming competitive offseason.
Competitive & Meta Breakdown
The sudden departure of Luka Perkz leaves G2 Esports searching for tactical leadership stability right as LEC organizations ramp up their offseason roster construction and strategic planning for the 2026 competitive circuit. As head coach, Perkz was expected to instill veteran discipline, draft flexibility, and map pool depth into G2’s emerging roster. Losing a coaching figure with his deep championship pedigree disrupts internal team chemistry and forces management to pivot quickly before upcoming tournament qualifiers. For G2, maintaining dominance in the European region requires seamless coaching transitions and robust tactical frameworks that can withstand high-pressure stage environments. Competitors across the LEC will undoubtedly look to capitalize on this organizational instability, weaponizing the sudden vacuum in G2’s coaching staff during critical scrim blocks and roster lock windows. Securing an experienced replacement capable of commanding player respect and executing sophisticated draft strategies remains priority number one for G2 management as they navigate this unforeseen crisis.
