Overwatch Omnic Detective Rigby Teased in Midtown [Update 2026]

Blizzard Entertainment has officially introduced in-game teasers for upcoming hero Rigby M-018 inside the Midtown map with the November 2026 midseason update, revealing a retro private investigator business card that confirms the long-rumored Omnic Detective will lead the game's next major narrative arc. According to verified reports from Kotaku, players exploring Midtown's taxi stands discovered calling cards for 'Hudson Investigations,' spotlighting private eyes Ellie Hudson and Omnic operative Rigby M-018. While Hudson represents an unintroduced human character in Overwatch lore, Rigby directly aligns with the trench-coat-wearing, umbrella-wielding robotic sleuth Blizzard first conceptualized during its 2026 brand reboot earlier this year. The midseason deployment also launched crossover skins and extensive balance tweaks, yet the community spotlight pivoted immediately toward Rigby's detective aesthetic, inspired by 1930s noir cinema. Much like how character theorycrafting drives players in tactical titles—detailed in our [Genshin Impact Mitya Build: Best Weapons, Artifacts [Guide]](/news/genshin-impact-mitya-best-build-guide)—Rigby's toolset has ignited intense speculation across the community. Developers confirmed Rigby plays a vital catalytic role in the forthcoming story campaign, bringing fresh narrative weight to Overwatch's evolving roster of heroes.
