iPhone Call Decline Missing: iOS Settings Explained [Guide]

According to verified reports from Engadget, Apple iPhones intentionally remove the incoming call decline button whenever the device is locked, presenting only a Slide to Answer slider to prevent accidental pocket dismissals or answers before the user deliberately authorizes the prompt. When an iPhone receives a cellular or VoIP call while unlocked, iOS presents distinct green Accept and red Decline buttons, because active screen engagement indicates the user is already looking at the display. However, when the handset remains locked in a pocket, bag, or flat on a desk, the operating system defaults to the slide gesture to eliminate accidental touch inputs. Users seeking to reject an incoming call on a locked screen can instantly silence the ringtone by pressing the side power button once, or press the power button twice in rapid succession to divert the call directly to voicemail. Alternatively, mobile users can tap Remind Me or Message on the display to clear the alert without answering.
