Hot Wax Steam Release Date: Eldritch Tetris Puzzler [Confirmed]

Hot Wax officially launches on Steam this week following a successful timed exclusivity run on Itch.io, bringing PUNKCAKE Délicieux's distinctively eerie, slow-burn candle-melting puzzle formula to mainstream PC audiences worldwide. According to verified reports from Rock Paper Shotgun, the title upends conventional falling-block mechanics by casting tetrominoes as waxy candles inside a haunted subterranean temple. Rather than completing horizontal rows for instant clears, players must coordinate erratic flame drops onto exposed wicks, gradually melting dense wax piles under the gaze of a benevolent eldritch deity. This release follows a pattern of high-concept arcade subversions from the developer, celebrated previously for pairing shotguns with classic chess rules. As players look for fresh single-player novelties alongside mainstream releases like the [Everlast Undying Tale Early Access Launch [Confirmed]](/news/everlast-undying-tale-early-access-launch), Hot Wax delivers acute spatial tension with rhythmic audio cues and claustrophobic geometry. The Steam version delivers updated input responsiveness, refined controller mappings, and comprehensive global leaderboard tracking designed for competitive score chasers seeking mastery over the game's deliberate, agonizing burn mechanics.
