Crimson Desert: The Missing Calf Quest Walkthrough [Full Guide]

To complete The Missing Calf quest in Crimson Desert's Beyond the Margins questline, players must navigate through a blinding regional sandstorm, locate the panicked bison herd using directional sound cues, defend the calf against desert predators, and herd them safely back to the ranch. According to verified reports from Sportskeeda Esports & BGMI, this sub-quest stands out as one of the most mechanically demanding objective chains in the Pywel region. Players step into the boots of protagonist Kliff as he responds to a distraught rancher whose livestock scattered during violent climatic turbulence. Unlike standard fetch quests, completing this task requires dealing with reduced environmental visibility, aggressive pack-hunting wildlife, and stubborn herd pathfinding. Navigating the dunes without compass landmarks forces players to rely heavily on mount stamina control and environmental audio cues to pinpoint the frightened calf. As Pearl Abyss continues to redefine environmental storytelling—earning early comparisons in our review of [Epic Fantasy Games: 8 Greatest RPG Titles Ever [Ranked Guide]](/news/greatest-epic-fantasy-games-ranked)—this quest showcases how dynamic weather directly dictates quest difficulty. Successfully returning the entire herd to the ranch fence completes the sub-quest, yielding valuable crafting supplies, reputation points, and progression toward concluding the overarching Beyond the Margins narrative.
